Two teenage boys were taken to hospital late Tuesday evening with “very minor stab wounds” following an altercation just before 11pm in Pier 4 Park.

Thousands of Hamiltonians were at Pier 4 and the adjoining Bayfront Park to enjoy the City’s Canada Day fireworks display.

Staff Sergeant Mike Spencer states the two teenager boys, aged 15 and 17, suffered “very minor stab wounds” during an altercation. The boys were transported separately to Hamilton General and McMaster Medical Centre. Spencer expects both will be released from hospital by end of morning.

Spencer says the victims are cooperating with police, and at this stage of the investigation, police do not know if the victims knew their attackers.

Police are asking witnesses to contact them at 905-546-3817.
