The Quebec Mosque Shooting

I learned of the Quebec Mosque shooting last night, and I sank - an attack against one is an attack against all.

I watched as misinformation spread, people tweeted with anger from many angles, and even argued in Direct Messages with people who felt I should be tweeting about it with their narrative.

Today, as the day progressed, it sank in what happened, details of the suspect were finally confirmed, and the Hamilton community planned to rally at City Hall in support of the victims and our own local Muslim community.

The hundreds who rallied at City Hall tonight make me proud of my community.

The sight of the City Hall flag at half-mast in mourning, I paused in reflection.
