The Public School Board and an Old Case of Bad Water Management

Graham Crawford, owner of History and Heritage caught the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s attention this weekend when he made one of his trademark posters – about a 2012 Ministry of Environment order against the HWDSB for three violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The fine wasn’t covered by Hamilton media when issued nearly 18 months ago. The fine was found last week, gained traction on social media, and raised questions about the school board at a time which the Board is under intense scrutiny from critics over school closures and the new lower-city high school.

The School Board responded on Sunday to the public attention saying it is now fully in compliance for its rural schools.
