Rosedale Tennis Club asks Council for $180,000 interest free loan

The Rosedale Tennis Club is asking Hamilton City Council for a $180,000 interest free loan, repayable over 15 years, to fund a new tennis bubble at the Gage Park facility.

The unsolicited request to City Council follows the denial of the Club’s application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The tennis club states in their letter the new bubble is “urgently needed” after their present bubble, in use for 10 years, is unsuitable for continued use due to safety concerns.

The recommendation to Council is for staff to report to the Audit, Finance & Administration Committee after researching the matter.

Recent loan requests from the Good Shepherd and other agencies have been referred to the Future Fund for consideration.
