I don’t think this will hurt McCain on a state-by-state basis. It will definitely hit his numbers nationally.
What should be most concerning for the McCain camp is how this will change the narrative of the campaign. The media coverage has been focused on Obama for the last week and now scrutiny will move to McCain. On the flip side, the timing could be worse. As of Friday, attention flips to the Olympics and this ad will be forgotten long before Labour Day.
