Hamilton Police Arrest Man for Drug and Weapon Possession near West and Wilson on Saturday Night

Police often say there’s no such thing as a routine traffic stop. Around 7:50pm, Hamilton Police pulled over a vehicle in the area of West Avenue and Wilson Street.

The driver exited the vehicle, and fled.

Police set up a perimeter, used a police dog, and found the suspect.

The suspect had a weapon. Staff Sergeant Mike Cunliffe says police are not prepared to disclose the type of weapon involved.

The suspect is facing drug and possession of weapon charges.

As the charges have not been read in front of a Justice of the Peace, the suspect name and age is not yet available.
