City council gathers today at 5 p.m. to ratify the committee work of the past two weeks.
Council will take the opportunity of live Cable 14 coverage to speak about the impact of provincial downloading and provincial cuts to social services. On Monday, Council’s Emergency & Community Services committee voted to continue funding programs for those who are homeless and prevent homelessness using city reserves. These programs were cut by the provincial government in city reserves are not sufficient to continue the programs in 2015.
There is only one item that was a close vote at committee, a proposed increase in HSR upper management.
