From downtown parking lot to beer gardens

Finally, a downtown parking lot is being converted – albeit for two days – into something useful.

Homegrown Hamilton is applying for a Special Occasion Permit to sell alcohol during the June 23-24, 2012 Open to the Core and Open Streets Festivals, at the Imperial Parking Lot 16-24 James Street North.

The empty parking lot is located directly across from the restored Lister Block on the south-east corner of King William and James.

Hamilton City Council will vote Wednesday on a motion to designate the events to be “municipally significant” to enable Homegrown to apply for the special occasion permit.
