Frankie "Venom" Kerr Public Art Project Public Meeting [Thurs Apr 19 @ 7:30pm - NO Live Video]

UPDATE: DUE TO THE WASTE INCINERATOR PUBLIC MTG, I WILL NOT BE COVERING THIS MEETING. Sorry

The Ward 1 Area Rating funds are being used by Councillor Brian McHattie to fund a $200,000 Public Art project in Victoria Park to build a statue of Teenage Head signer Frankie “Venom” Kerr.

I’ll bring you live video from the meeting to allow all of us to better understand the scope of this project.

Kerr, who had a major influence on Canadian punk rock, lived near Victoria Park during his final years. The project’s $200,000 price tag is generating much debate online, following a Hamilton Spectator article.

The City has a webpage with more information about the project here: http://www.hamilton.ca/CultureandRecreation/Arts_Culture_And_Museums/Arts/Project-VictoriaParkPublicArt.htm
