Finding Peace With Others

Listening to music this morning at my desk, and a song which I associate with another person streams as part of the playlist.

I pause, I immediately think of a person whom introduced me to the song and whose story the song sings to.

This person and I had a few years of, how to phrase this, not getting along. Today, we don’t speak, which is fine because our lives inevitably grew apart.

Nonetheless, after a few years of fighting and causing grief for our mutual friends, we found an understanding.

It required putting aside some pride, giving some forgiveness, and having a bunch of patience, but we finally reached a good place.

As I listened to the song, I valued the smile because it was hard earned.
