Armed Robberies around the Bannatyne Campus of UManitoba

Yesterday afternoon, there were two armed robberies in the vicinity of the Bannatyne Campus.  The following news outlets report:

Security Services at UofManitoba sent the following out this morning:

In the late afternoon on Monday, Dec. 11, 2007, on City of Wpg property, Ross Ave and HSC Parkade, two armed robberies occurred. One involved a U of M Student and the other a U of M Staff member. No one was injured.
Culprits are described as 2 males, caucasian, wearing black clothing, early twenties, and produced a handgun. They demanded money. No one was injured and suspects fled on foot.
Wpg Police are investigating and has increased patrols in the area.
UM Campus Security has doubled the patrol strength at the Bannatyne Campus and have a patrol vehicle present for Safewalks/drives.
