I’ll be working a bit more slowly during the next week and a half. Some may even call it a Christmas vacation.
As Hamilton remains in an emergency, I will continue to monitor the ice storm situation and will immediately report major developments.
I will remain reporting on Christmas Day until we know this emergency is over.
I have plenty to write in thanks to everyone who is supporting my work. I’m humbled every day by the privilege of covering the community we live in.
I need to rest as much as possible during the next 10 days, with the Municipal Election starting January 2nd, my next opportunity for rest will not be until early November.
I will quickly respond to any news events that impacts or has the potential to impact a large number of people or a large area of the City.
I will be *completely offline *during the following time periods:
- December 24: 1930 – 2130 (Christmas Eve Mass)
- December 29: as of yet undetermined periods of time.
I will be partially offline during the follow time periods, meaning I will not be actively monitoring but will receive major alerts from my server:
- December 25: 1600 to 1800 (Christmas Dinner)
- December 29, 30, 31.
January 1st and 2nd
I will be at the Mayor’s Levee on New Year’s Day.
January 2nd, I will bring you live video from outside the City Clerk’s Office as candidate registration for the 2014 Municipal Election opens at 8:30am.
In the evening, I will hold a special event at a local pub. Watch for details!
No matter what you are celebrating: Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive and Drive.*
