A Year Ago Today

I was sitting in my rez and remembered what I was doing a year ago today. Saturday February 27th 2004. A bunch of my friends and I decided that we were going to go to the Arcade at McMaster. It was closed, this being reading week last year. Instead, I went home got my Monopoly board and we played Monopoly in the McMaster University Students Centre. I also informed my closest friend of my decision to come to the University of Manitoba.

The Paul Martin Show

In the House of Commons when asked to retract his earlier comments on Syria in Lebanon – see below 14 posts – Paul Martin gets up and says the following:

“Mr. Speaker, I said in French and I said in English — that the Syrians should withdraw from Syria.”

Somebody at CBC should give him his own show. Standup comedy genre show. You have to have a live audience but unlike Rick Mercer’s Monday Report, the audience is part of the show. Paul Martin will wait for the audience to tell him what they want to see and the first thing Paul hears, he does.
I think it would be a better way to waste our tax dollars then Movie Night in Canada.

New Posters are up

I gave some of the posters to the UMSU Representive of Speechly/Tache and the UMSU Rep. for University College on Thursday. Both Reps. have got the new posters up. I thank both of them for their support. I am currently working on the presentation. My goal is to keep it nice and short (under 15mins – hopefully under 10) and then open the floor to ideas and suggestions. I am going to push for a non-profit model of food services much like Waterloo, Guelph, and McMaster. We need declining balance across campus for all residences and off-campus meal options. While, back to my homework for awhile and then I will keep working on my presentation.

Another Scandal at York University

So, I am reading the Toronto Star today and there is an article on the housing development on the land sold by York last spring.
One can remember the scandal in the summer when a student was expelled for using a megaphone indoors during a protest. Punishment was justified, but this was overboard.
Now it turns out that York sold land for less than its market value in a untendered sale:

kboysandgirlsclub.com

Someone asked me how much I get paid to maintain the website of the Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys’ and Girls’ Club. I get paid nothing. I do it as a volunteer. The Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys’ and Girls’ Club was the place that turned me around in life and help me survive the extreme turmoil of my teenage years. As such, I owe the Kiwanis Club my life and will always be volunteering there in some way.
Please feel free to read the newspaper article that I have on my site:

I have disconnected my home internet

While, I have noticed that I am addicted to playing a couple of games and waste time on the internet. I have fallen a little behind on my reading so I am punishing myself…. no more Internet at home…. I have to go to a school computer lab now. I mailed my Internet card to a friend in Hamilton with the instruction to not mail it back until April. On a positive note, I did plenty of reading today :D
